Commissioning Manager - Swindon

up to £60k per annum plus Bonus - Perm - Renewable Energy

Our client is a Renewable Energy market leader in the fast-growing heat pump sector offering a wide range of services from design, service and installation to owning and operating the systems. They have some of the most experienced design and installation teams in the UK and have completed hundreds of projects since their inception

The company was established in 2012 with the goal of becoming the number one provider of renewable heating in the UK. A new joint venture with institutional backing provides an exciting opportunity for rapid growth as heat pumps become the technology of choice for the UK’s net zero ambitions.

Role Overview

As the Commissioning Manager, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the optimal performance of our clients low-carbon heat pump systems.

Your primary responsibilities will revolve around the final wiring of heat pump systems, conducting thorough quality control, and managing all necessary documentation. You will also oversee the commissioning process, ensuring each system operates as intended and meets our high standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Directly manage engineers and sub-contractors to deliver the project scope of works.
  • On-site Health & Safety.
  • Project wide coordination of works to programme.
  • Attend contractor meetings and progress meetings.
  • Coordinate timely procurement and delivery of materials and equipment.

Key requirements

We seek a candidate who will lead the crucial final stage in the project lifecycle, ensuring excellence in every aspect of our heat pump system commissioning process.

  • Managing and completing the final wiring and setup of heat pump systems, ensuring adherence to design specifications and safety standards.
  • Leading the commissioning process for heat pumps and systems, ensuring they operate efficiently and meet intended performance criteria.
  • Collaborating closely with installation teams, electricians, and other relevant stakeholders to coordinate and streamline the commissioning process.
  • Addressing and resolving any technical issues that arise during the commissioning phase, implementing solutions to optimise system performance.

A minimum of 5 years of professional experience as an Electrician, with specific

experience in commercial and domestic installations.

  • Comprehensive understanding and experience in electrical wiring, safety standards, and regulations, including BS7671 and Part P registration.
  • NVQ level 3 in Electrical Installation or a similar qualification, along with the completion of the 18th Edition update to wiring regulations.
  • Proficiency in testing to BS2391 and a strong technical understanding of heating systems, controls, and both three-phase and single-phase power.
  • Demonstrated experience in the commissioning of complex systems, with a focus on quality control and system optimisation.
