Heating Engineer - Reading

Our client is currently looking for experienced Plumbing & Heating Engineer with domestic experience and who is looking for an opportunity to work in the Renewable Energy sector.

Main Purpose of Job:

Our client is looking to hire a motivated and energetic engineer to support the installation teams in a period of significant growth. As part of the installation team, the responsibilities will include:

• Heat pump installations on both multiple domestic sites and larger commercial projects
• Install all associated pipework that forms part of the heat pump supply. Including from manifold to buffer tank and full distribution system
• Competent in reading Mechanical schematic drawings
• Responsible for on-site Heath & Safety in line with the company policy and legislation
• Responsible for the quality and compliance of the system
• 1^st and 2^nd Fix on domestic dwellings and plantrooms

Key Tasks:

The ideal candidate will have keen attention to detail, a methodical mind set, and the self-structure required to work autonomously, and in a wider team. In anticipation of a significant period of growth, the candidate should be keen to take ownership of tasks and the development of new processes and systems required to take the company through the next stage of growth

• Plumbing and heating
• Installation of domestic size ground source heat pumps
• Installation of commercial size GSHP plantrooms
• Installing first fix pipe work for heating and radiators
• Work to high standard and to current regulations
• Following programme of works
• Working as part of a wider team of installers
• Ability to travel and work away from home as required

Person Specification:

• Plumbing and heating engineer Ideally with experience in Renewables
• Experienced domestic plumber with a thorough understanding of heating and its distribution system, including underfloor heating
• NVQ Plumbing and heating (or equivalent)
• BPEC Heat pumps (Desirable)
• Unvented hot water
• Heating installation, or service and maintenance experience

Package:

• Basic Salary £ 35 - £42k (depending on experience)
• 25 Days Annual Leave plus stats
• £30 monthly contribution to phone contract
• Full time position
• Van provided
• Project specific bonus scheme
