A well-established Heat Pump Manufacturer has an excellent opportunity for an Operations Manager to join their Production team.  The role will initially be on a 1 year fixed term contract with the possibility of becoming permanent. 

Our client represents award winning British Engineering at its finest and with over two decades of expertise, they also advise Government departments and leading companies on the use and sustainability of Ground Source Heat Pumps.

As Interim Operations Manager you will lead our clients growing operations team, driving production and delivery of their market leading heat pumps, based out of their manufacturing facility in Truro.

Main Purpose of Job

  • To oversee the factory and logistics
  • Manage the day-to-day manufacturing process of ground source heat pumps
  • Lead the Operations team, including production, quality, manufacturing, and supply
  • Ensure timely servicing of orders, end to end from order to delivery
  • Monitor production performance
  • Set standards for H&S
  • Manage production plans
  • Control material supply and stock levels are maintained
  • Oversee purchasing
  • Coordinate with Factory Manager and engineering team
  • Monitor and reporting accordingly

As the successful Operations Manager you will be critical to producing and delivering market leading products. You will be used to delivering best quality work, at the head of a high-performance team.

Person Specification:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in engineering, manufacturing, or related technical discipline
  • Several years’ experience within a technical manufacturing business and minimum of 5 years in a management role
  • Experience of managing an organisation who delivers high quality products on time
  • Good technical and engineering know-how
  • Hands on engineering of productions systems and tools
  • Fully conversant with Lean Manufacturing
  • Change Management and Project Management practices
  • Understanding of Production Management and Controls
  • Experience of Quality Management, ISO 9001 compliance and EH&S
  • Demand forecast and materials planning
  • Supply Chain Management


  • Basic salary £45,000 - £65,000
