Our client has a great opportunity to join a successful Solar PV and Battery storage business that has a large client base of various ground mount solar PV assets under management. The role will complete all day-to-day operation and maintenance services to ensure that the PV systems operate to maximum efficiency. The successful O&M PV Engineer will offer technical reporting services for PV system maintenance, preventative, and corrective maintenance tasks.

Main responsibilities

You will be required to carry out daily site visits on various sites in the portfolio of the company. You will be asked to work closely with the HV engineer in order to execute planned preventative maintenance, corrective maintenance and troubleshooting. On certain occasions you will be asked to support the team by identifying local suppliers for various materials and services in order to conduct corrective maintenance activities.

  • Routine maintenance, testing, and remedial work on deployed solar PV systems
  • Complying with company procedures
  • Responsible for performing Preventative Maintenance according to the PPM annual plan
  • Performing Corrective Maintenance as occurs
  • Reporting of activities performed on site, upon any site visit and on a daily basis, through the CMMS or manual reports as applicable
  • Risk assessment, analysis, and operational Limitations. Report all near misses to manager
  • Responsible for supervision and coordination of third-party contractors carrying out works on site
  • Coordinate third party contractors in order to comply with H&S Regulations
  • Keeping accurate and detailed records of electrical testing, that are suitable for audit
  • Fault finding for any system that is not performing correctly

Person specification

  • Qualified electrician and Solar PV Engineer
  • 18th Edition Qualified along with testing & inspection etc. or equivalent
  • Experience of supervising sub-contractors
  • Computer literate
  • Can work under own initiative
  • Full UK Driving Licence
  • Attention to detail
  • Willingness to travel
  • Willingness to be available for out-of-hours on-call duties in line with company policy
  • Able to use IT equipment and mobile phone for reporting, working knowledge of Microsoft office.
  • Technically strong and good organisational abilities
  • Diligent & knowledgeable approach to Health and Safety

Desirable criteria:

  • HV qualifications AP15 or OP40 or equivalent
  • Qualifications or training in specific PV inverter technologies
  • Communications or networking qualifications
  • IOSH or NEBOSH
  • Deep knowledge of battery systems

Remuneration:

  • Basic Salary of between £36,000 - £45,000
  • 20 days Annual Leave plus stats
  • Company vehicle (Personal use also) with fuel card
  • Overtime available
