Solar PV Project Engineer - Leicester

Our exciting and expanding Renewable Energy client is a leading PV and biomass heating installer, specialising in systems for commercial and industrial sites.  They are looking for a Solar PV Project Engineer to join their successful team on a permanent basis.

The Role:

The successful Solar PV Project Engineer can be home based and will report directly to the Head of Projects. Ideal location would be Midland’s belt East to West.

This role will suit someone with commercial electrical installation experience (AC/DC), who has transitioned over to the Design, Surveying and Delivery inc Project Management of Solar PV within the Commercial sector. You will need to be able to manage your own time and decision making, be an ambitious team player and will want to establish yourself as a key member of the client’s business, who would be regarded as a subject matter expert when presented to the customers.

Key Responsibilities:

• Compliance to Regulation, Legislation, the Law and our internal QMS.
• Cradle to Grave Delivery on time, on cost, on quality and SAFELY.
• Site Survey / Technical Assessments
• Solar PV Technical Package Detailed Design (PGVIS; Mounting Systems; SLD; Scaffolding Plans & at its extreme end a TRIMBLE design.
• Collating & Pricing up Bills of Materials for Quotes for Supplier Selection
• Liaising with the Client & Sub-Contractors (on behalf of the Business)
• Being present on Site as the interface between the works being done and the customer.
• Project / Business Administration

Personal Attributes/Professional Experience required

• You will have experience of electrical and solar PV installation on large domestic or commercial projects, surveying, electrical design
• Strong understanding of AC/DC and voltage drops (No requirement to be a qualified electrician, just a good understanding will suffice)
• You will need to demonstrate that you have managed a project of some kind
• Technically minded with a full understanding of Solar Photovoltaics
• An electrical design / install qualification (desirable) but demonstratable experience.
• At least two of the following SSSTS / SMSTS / Nebosh Certificate or Diploma / CSCS advantageous.

Remuneration:

• Salary - £45,000 - £55,000 DOE
• Home Based with site visits required
• 25 days holiday plus Banks
• Company Pension Scheme
• Mileage allowance for site visits (Own vehicle required) 1-2 days per week
